Take the 2013 Meditation Challenge with Me!

I am committing to meditate at least 30 minutes every day in 2013. I was inspired by someone else who did this and has blogged about it.

This commitment is a gift to myself and to the world. I am choosing to do this as a way of committing to my own self care and well-being, and out of a desire to continue to expand my sense of compassion and connectedness, as well as an experiment in the benefits of meditation to satisfy my curiosity about what is possible. As I grow in my understanding of the challenges to sustaining daily practice through this experience, I hope to better help others overcome these challenges and discover the benefits of meditation. I also aspire to be a light to others through my own personal transformation.

If you would like to join me, submit a comment below, proclaiming to the world your commitment to yourself, and the reasons you are choosing to engage in this experiment. For the rest of the year, the comments for this page will be open to sharing of experiences, challenges, and support from those participating. If we have more than a few participants, I will put up a private Facebook community for us to communicate more easily.

See the Meditation page for timers and other resources to assist with your practice.

I’m in! i am going to also set a goal to meditate everyday. Minimum goal is one time a day for no less than 7 minutes. I have a month calendar printed off to mark off each day that I meditate. I am decent during the week but on the weekends it seems to slip away from me. This really does improve the quality of life so why not!?

I’ll do it. I resolve to prsctice ten minutes of silent meditaton per day. Maybe more, but ten minutes doesn’t feel like I’m kidding myself!

I have been wanting to meditate for the longest time, I have always needed help and a way to keep me going. I am going yo start out a minute a day one I am successful with that 1 minute I will add one minute to the following day. I am not sure I will be able to meditate as long as 365 minutes in one day…LOL but I am excited to see how far I can push myself without the pressure of a maximum or minimum goal. I’ll let the universe decide. Thanks ladies for doing this so excited. BTW I am in Saudi Arabia where are you? What do you think about organizing a time once a week or month when we can meditate at the same time. Just a thought!

    • Lori,
Thanks so much for joining this effort! I am in the US, and we meet Tuesday evenings 19:15 EST for discussion and guided meditation. You join us in spirit, or I could try to broadcast via Google Hangout if you are interested. Would that be morning where you are? Anyone have any other ideas?
      -Cynthia
